Melancholy Memories
Written by Wesley for Sam 1998
Memories brought back by old photographs.
Long lost tears and unfaded laughs.
A familiar face from a distance place,
Old friends befriended once again,
Something common with past and present.
Memories with time merely grow more pleasant.
Though through our lives we each choose a separate path.
There will come a time to look back and laugh,
For our memories both bitter and sweet may be all that we have.
Melancholy memories of days grown old,
Become more precious than the purest of gold.
-- Dedication for my friends past, present and those yet to come. --
This poem was written for Sam by a close friend in Guthrie, OK just before Sam moved away.
